Personality:
A big brother figure to all the crew members especially towards his young, innocent captain. He has had a thirst for adventure since he was young and often caused trouble for his older sister Emilia. Anything that comes to mind about airships, Abel becomes VERY ambitious and strives to learn whatever he can. Some say he has a heart of gold and isn’t afraid to face danger head on for the people he cares about; others think of him as a reckless fool and a loud nuisance who sticks his nose into other peoples businesses when it ISN’T necessary. Though his tolerance for demeaning others or himself is very nil, he tries to maintain his composure in those kinds of situations. As far as his personal life, he would rather not share his problems with his crew members as telling anyone those things can’t change what has already happened.
Background:
Born into a family of fishermen, Abel often looked to the sky and saw the airships that would fly overhead. His sister Emilia had the opportunity to venture on an airship so she would tell him stories of her experiences. With dreams of someday manning his own ship and sailing the skies, Abel often tried to sneak aboard airships only to be foiled by Emilia before he could get the chance. Throughout his childhood, he had worked on the air docks waiting for his chance at being a part of an airship crew.
Years past and with the help of many airship captains and crew, Abel finally had his wish come true and joined a small cruise ship. Though not exactly the adventure of a lifetime, he began to learn the in’s and out’s of being a part of an airship crew. The feeling of the wind through the sails filled him with such excitement that he would request to work the sails despite his young age and stature. It was an experience that burned his inner passion for airships even more as he would constantly pester oncoming ships to take him into their crew even if just for a small voyage.
After his first voyage, Abel joined a foreign ship where he was taught how to use a Bo Staff. The captain was very impressed with his vigilance and spirit thus gracing Abel with his own personal teachings in the art of Bo Jutsu. Soon enough, he was competent enough to learn how to use a two section and three section staff with ease thanks to the captain’s training and even help aid the crew in a raid against their vessel. Before leaving the ship after the voyage back to port, the captain gave Abel his Bo Staff as a gift for him which Abel at first hesitated because it was the captain’s. Even more so, the captain pushed more and more until Abel gave in leaving him with these words, “I hope to meet you again someday as your own Captain and truly fight you as a Warrior” Left with those words and a newly attained weapon, Abel ran home ecstatic and couldn’t wait to tell Emilia about his journey.
Driven by those passionate words from that voyage, Abel wanted to truly put his skills to the test and had heard of someone looking for members to join their crew. He feverishly searched for the ship only to have a little girl run into him, knocking him over. Before he could apologize for running into her, she immediately dragged him to The Embassy claiming that he would work for her from now on. Seeing the crew as a whole he wondered what exactly he had gotten into. Nonetheless, he felt drawn in to this mysterious bunch of a crew the little girl had mustered up; thus Abel accepted her proposition and joined as the new rigger of the Embassy.
Before setting voyage with a new crew, Emilia came to see her brother off. She gave Abel her cross pendant and her pink ribbon as a gift though she had little hopes of him taking them. To her surprise, Abel instinctively takes both, ties the bow incorrectly and gives her his usual big smile. He promised to bring back souvenirs and tell her all his stories of about his travels. Emilia chuckles and ties the ribbon correctly for him, wishing him safe traveling and she would be looking forward to hearing all his stories.
